About the role

The City is seeking to appoint an ICT Operations and Security Officer within the Business Systems Group for a 12-month fixed term temporary opportunity.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to deepen their experience across ICT operations, infrastructure, and cyber security, while working in a fast-paced, enterprise environment that supports the broader organisation. 

The ICT Operations and Security Officer position plays a key role in ensuring the stability, availability and security of the City's ICT environment. The role works across on-premises and cloud platforms, supports ongoing cyber security uplift initiatives, and contributes to operational improvement and organisational resilience. 

This position offers exposure to both day to day ICT operations and longer-term security and improvement initiatives, working closely with the Business Systems team and stakeholders across the organisation.

Please note, the successful applicant will be required to participate in an emergency after-hours on-call roster, which is shared across the team.

About You
You have a strong ICT background supported by a relevant degree or equivalent experience, with a genuine interest in ICT operations and cyber security. You bring fundamental ICT knowledge, a solid technical foundation, and a passion for process improvement and finding better ways of working. You're eager to learn, develop, and take on new challenges, with the ability to follow structured processes while also contributing to their improvement.

We also encourage applicants who may not meet every technical requirement in the position description but can demonstrate the right mindset, adaptability, and willingness to grow. This secondment is ideal for someone ready to step up, broaden their capabilities, and move into a more operational and security-focused role.

What's on offer?

  • 12-month fixed-term contract - Full Time (35 hours per week).

  • Competitive Salary range from $103,489.62 - $108,936.45 depending on your capabilities and experience + 12% superannuation.
